THE WORLD’S SILENCE, 2024

My world is deeply connected to matter, a spiritual universe governed by intangible laws. It is like observing the movement of celestial bodies and the cosmos, regulated by the force of gravity. This world stems from the inspiration of the concept of the divine, understood as an unexpressed potential, a potential encapsulated in a fundamental question: does the divine exist in this world? Are there tangible proofs of its presence? This universe embraces that question because there is an element hidden within the forms that compose it. Considering the thematic connection of the exhibition, reason why I created it, I decided to revisit the symbol I developed in my research on the “Transcendent Series”: the “Symbol of the Three Heavens.” I deconstructed it to create forms that evoke its meanings. The stages of the Cosmos, the Intellect, and the Body coexist in a single piece, in a unified form. The answer to all this lies in the sounds that this world is potentially capable of generating. A keen observer may notice that the central sphere of this “world” is designed to activate another smaller sphere, suspended beneath it. Its purpose is to produce a sound. This sound is not meant to be particularly useful or melodic, but its significance resides in imagination. The very concept of imagining the sound that this world could produce is comparable to the concept of the divine: an act of faith that consists in perceiving what is not directly accessible.

HUMANITY, 2021

“Humanity” is fragmented and consumed by the struggle to survive itself: a struggle in which the purity or corruption of the parties’ intentions will shape the defeat or rebirth of Society. This virtual installation encapsulates my feelings for an uncertain future in a dying world. Most social relationships are dissolved by pure self-interest. While the resources and the world are being consumed, the War of the Jackals begins. Concepts like value, ethics and wealth are dissolved in the struggle for survival. The Pure and the Corrupt, although - apparently - with distinct characteristics, mingle with each other in a mixture of attitudes and emotions that blurry their intents, sometimes evident and sometimes enigmatic. They are the ephemeral bodies in the darkness, the yoke of humanity. A body may appear to be corrupted by the conditions of the environment in which its immersed, but the soul can still be preserved pure. How can we find love or pity in ourselves or cultivate our virtues, if our actions are dominated by selfishness? “Humanity” is not just a denunciation of a way of thinking that is already leading us to this. It is the value of humanity that I would like to be able to preserve through the messages contained in Art, so that they can flow into everyday life.

BEING OF THE COSMOS, 2023

The being crosses a threshold; a choice that changes the plot of what was before and that again begins to define it. Threshold after threshold the being takes shape until becoming what is now revealed to our eyes. It changes, changes, evolves until it finds itself to get lost again.

This is a series yet to be explored in its potential. The void and the two-dimensional nature of the image refer to a utopia: an evocative and distant world, but which I continue to recall in my inner life in the search for what is missing.

EPHEMERAL II, CALLED TO LIFE, 2018-2019

One night I had a dream. I closed my eyes and looked up and found myself in a cave crowded with these metal beings. These scraps of iron that made up the meat were comparable to their wealth and prosperity. Many of these beings attacked each other to take possession of the "skin" of others.  I perceived a humanity perpetually struggling and divided by personal interests. Seeing the havoc that one made of the other, I bent my head and saw that I was composed of their own skin. And I refused to accept that as "humanity" to be a part of.

The body dissolves leaving space for nature to come. A nucleus of life, a destiny that is fulfilled and becomes memory.

Two bodies come together in an intense embrace. Filaments, which seem to be part of the ether, make up designs that symbolize a sacred moment: a destiny that must still be revealed.

You enter a large, dimly lit space, covered with huge sheets of steel cortin. The material is suspended from the floor like a bridge. Microphones positioned below the surface amplify The passage of the user transform the installation into a huge resonance box able to transform the sound of their steps in the pure perception of the present, the conception of being.

A NON-PLACE: In this context, the sound that the installation is able to reverberate, creates an ideal condition for users to grasp the value of the present. The fact of being above a floor that vibrates because of our steps and that sound is amplified, creates the ideal conditions to re-establish self-consciousness in the present and in space.

The iron structure represents the system of exploitation generated by man. Every single "lobby" that causes suffering to the planet is comparable to one of the points that pierces the root (symbol of the Earth’s ecosystem) held in suspense by these instruments of torture. None of these tips will be the fatal blow, all of them will be.

EPHEMERAL III, CHAOS, 2018

A human figure suspended on the edge of an abyss. Chaos expressed through tongues of a fire without heat. Rust that devours matter and oxides that affect the worked surfaces.The time that devours the flesh, shapes the space to its will. And in this flurry of matter that changes a thought stands firmly contemplating the unknown.

HERCULES KILLS HIDRA, 2016

According to the myth, Hercules defeated the Hydra by cutting and cauterizing its heads to prevent its regrowth and crushing it with a huge boulder. I decided to represent this myth because Hercules is a hero, not for his strength, but for the ingenuity he used to overcome the problem.

EPHEMERAL I, 2016

This was the first step of the Ephemeral Series. A set of works that have as common objective to investigate human identity in relation to time. As living beings we are corroded by time in a way not unlike metal itself. Everything existing is subject to the change derived from time and in life we are all bound by the same destiny, by the same empathy.
